What Is PrimerStar — and Why Does It Matter?

So, what exactly is PrimerStar? It is a groundbreaking payment and loyalty solution developed in strategic partnership with Mastercard, and it represents Asia-Pacific's first live deployment of Mastercard's Next-Generation Point-of-Interaction (NGP) experience.

Launched at Funan Mall in Singapore on February 5, 2026, it solves one of retail's most persistent pain points: a fragmented, multi-step checkout experience. Before PrimerStar, shoppers had to dig for physical loyalty cards, juggle multiple brand apps, enter voucher codes, and complete payment — all as separate steps. It created long queues, abandoned transactions, and an experience that felt anything but premium.

PrimerStar fixes all of that with a single dynamic QR code scan. One scan recognizes the customer, applies any eligible rewards across all Primer Group brands, and processes a secure payment — instantly.
